HIKING

Many of our guests arrive and depart on foot.  They claim that hiking the Rogue River trail is the best way to get here!

If you decide to hike in to our hideaway, you will be greeted with the same warm welcome, exquisite cuisine, and superb lodging as our floating, boating, or fly-in guests. A perfect resting spot from which to continue your natural journey through the many wonders of the Oregon habitat.

Located 28 miles down-river from Graves Creek, or 10 miles up-river from Foster Bar, Paradise Lodge is a wonderful and relaxing place to spend a night or two. The hiking trails into Paradise begin upstream near the historic landmark of Marial or downstream from Foster Bar Landing. Once you arrive in Paradise, there are scores of beautiful hikes ranging from five minutes to several hours.

Oregon is a hiker's paradise. From the Pacific Crest trail, which runs from Canada to Mexico, to the thousands of gentle strolls through valleys and mountains, Oregon is filled with hikes and campsites to fulfill any outdoor adventure, and many of those hikes are just minutes from Paradise Wilderness Lodge.

Enjoy hiking to Paradise Lodge or once there hike on the trails surrounding Paradise.  Either way, you will be able to appreciate unspoiled wilderness!

HIKING FROM MARIAL
From I-5 take the exit at Glendale (Exit 80).  At the end of the off ramp you turn left and go about 3 miles to the old service station on the left (it is very small) and then turn right onto Brown Street which turns into Rueben Road.  Tou will travel on this road for about 12.3 miles to the road on your left numbered 32-9-14-2.  Turn left.

It is only at this point that there is a sign spray painted at the bottom "MARIAL".  There are no other signs.  From this point it is about 15 miles to the trailhead.  Note:  Road 32-9-14-2 is not in numerical order  with other road signs.  Park your car at the trailhead and enjoy the beautiful 3.5 mile hike to Paradise Wilderness Lodge.

Paradise Lodge.

At the top of the airstrip.
The evening light failing.
The night sounds becoming louder.
The clutter of life...very distant.
